As a result of continuous efforts at every level of the organization, Hyundai Motor Company has gained the momentum and trajectory needed to soon attain status as a world-class automotive brand. Our automobiles are now custom designed to meet local tastes and through innovative marketing strategies, we have extended our reach into new and exciting markets and segments.
Within a year of its opening, our Alabama plant in the United States was up and running at optimal capacity. In India and China, two of the fastest growing markets anywhere, we are putting the finishing touches on expansion projects while in the Czech Republic we are starting work on our first EU manufacturing facility. Today, Hyundai ranks as the world"s the sixth largest automobile manufacturer but Hyundai Motor Company"s endless innovations do not stop at quantitative growth: Our great strides in quality have made Hyundai the talk of the industry.
Hyundai led the industry placing five cars at the top of their respective segments in the most recent Total Quality Survey by the U.S. based Strategic Vision. The survey measured the rational and emotional experience of buying, owning, driving, and servicing vehicles after 90 days ownership. And in the J.D.Power and Associates Initial Quality Survey, our Elantra and Accent placed among the top three in their segments. Also, in a widely followed annual survey of the 100 global brands, Hyundai was named among the fastest growing in brand value, a truly remarkable accomplishment.
Looking ahead, Hyundai Motor Company will continue to maintain the superior quality that can satisfy all of its customers around the world. At the same time, by establishing the goal of giving top priority to serving our customers, we will endlessly continue our efforts in providing the value our customers truly desire.
